About Us

The Boat

what a beauty

The Johanna Augusta II (named for Captain Dave’s Mom) is a 45-foot Starrat Jenks sailing sloop. The first boat out of the mold was a very successful offshore racer. The boat’s designer, Charlie Morgan, lost the molds in a poker game to Mr. Starrat, and hence the name…

Captain Dave found the Johanna Augusta II in St Petersburg Florida and spent 2 years rebuilding her. The JA II now sails the US Virgin Islands as a US Coast Guard inspected vessel, licensed for up to 18 passengers. Roomy, fast, safe and comfortable, the JA II will sail you through a remarkable day out on the sunny, turquoise waters of the US Virgin Islands.

The Captain
Captain Dave

Once a DJ, builder and innkeeper of “Captain Parker’s B&B”, and a pilot, now turned pirate and avid sailor of 25 years, Captain Dave will provide you with a sail you’ll never forget. He knows the islands and their secrets like no one else. You’ll snorkel vibrant, secluded reefs away from the crowds, and enjoy his knowledge of the seas, fish and fauna.

Once the owner of “The Cock & Bull BBQ” (found in fairgrounds throughout New England), Captain Dave will be preparing you a lunch to remember! HE CAN COOK!

Sophia the Wonder Dog

She can tune in the BBC with those ears...

Sophia , (a 9 lb. rat terrier) was hired by Captain Dave for both her domestic and First Mate experience. She excels at dish washing (cream cheese removal a specialty), making beds (out of our guest’s finest towels and outerwear), protecting the boat from the evils of boat hooks, orchestrating proper mooring retrievals, stealing the heart (and the steak) of her Dad on a daily basis, and making our guests wish they could steal HER.
